Upper Manhattan LGBTQ History: Arts and Community
June 24 @ 6:30 pm
NoMAA, whose work is at the intersection of culture and community, is bringing together on June 24 a panel and program of artists, historians, and longstanding community members to begin an exploration of Upper Manhattan LGBTQ history. We begin this exploration in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion in Lower Manhattan. We also celebrate the efforts that preceded June 1969 to build LGBTQ community and culture and all the work since then to expand that movement to Upper Manhattan, New York, and the world. The event on June 24 is also intended to foster LGBTQ community-building in Upper Manhattan.
