NY Scandia Symphony presents 15th annual Scandinavian Music Festival, a free outdoor concert series at Ft. Tryon Park, Billings Lawn. Enter at 193rd Street Entrance. Turn left to Billings Lawn. Bring your blanket. Free.

June 10th, 2018 at 2:00 PM: The Scandia Brass Quintet will perform their popular repertoire of contemporary and traditional compositions and arrangements, representing music from each of the five Scandinavian countries, including five national anthems.
June 17th, 2018 at 2:00 PM: “The Tinderbox”. In this special program, created to captivate the imagination of children and the young at heart, our Scandia Ensemble and Narrator Sandra Billingslea will take participants on a musical journey in which they are actively engaged, learning and interacting with the artists. Text by Hans Christian Andersen and music by Poul Schierbeck and Frank Foerster.
June 24th, 2018 at 2:00 PM: Scandia Strings. The String Orchestra will perform works by Frank Foerster, Jean Sibelius, Johan Helmich Roman, and Knudage Riisager.
Soloist: Mayuki Fukuhara, Violin. Lisa Hansen, Flute
