Exhibition - Joy BrownJoy Brown on Broadway
Internationally known artist Joy Brown exhibits nine monumental bronze figures along Broadway. Rounded forms and natural materials of clay and bronze convey the heavy gravity of stone, while expressions and gestures transcend that weight, suggesting warmth and lightness. Three pieces in Northern Manhattan: 148th St – Sitters on Bench; 157th St – Animal with Rider; 166th St – Recliner with Head in Hand and Recliner on Side. Presented by the Broadway Mall Association, the Morrison Gallery, and NYC Parks.

Exhibition - I Need Project by Urban Soul AllianceUrban Soul Alliance – “I need” project
Urban Soul Alliance launched Forums for Social Action last October, a socially engaged art project encouraging the general public to respond to the prompt “I need”, finishing the sentence. We then create public art pieces based on the responses, which are placed in relevant public places. This first installation at Montefiore Square will be a representation of 1,000 voices from our community. / Urban Soul Alliance lanzó Foros de Acción Social el pasado mes de octubre, un proyecto de arte socialmente comprometido que anima al público en general a responder al mensaje “Necesito …”, terminando la frase. Luego, creamos obras de arte públicas basadas en las respuestas, que se colocan en lugares públicos pertinentes. Esta primera instalación en la Plaza Montefiore será una representación de 1000 voces de nuestra comunidad.
