Artists

Visual artists, singers, musicians, dancers, poets, theater groups, etc., in Washington Heights, Inwood and West Harlem are invited to participate in the 2017 Uptown Arts Stroll. To do so, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Identify potential venues or find new venues on your own.
  2. Contact the identified venue(s) and make arrangements to host your event or exhibition during the Uptown Arts Stroll or longer.
  3. When you have booked a venue, let us know about the arrangements — send us the information using the submission form.

We will add your information to the Exhibitions page or the Events Schedule. Note: Let us know by the print deadline, Monday 1 May 2017, and your information will also appear in the printed Uptown Arts Stroll Guide, 20,000 copies, distributed by The Manhattan Times and NoMAA citywide.

IMPORTANT: For visual artists, you hang your work at your own risk — venues are NOT responsible for your artwork. For all participating artists, please ensure that your event details are clear with the venue. NoMAA is not responsible for booking venues.

Local artists will open their professional or home studios and give visitors a glimpse into their creative process during Open Studios, which are on Saturday 10 June 2017, 1–6pm in West Harlem and Washington Heights (West 135th St to Fairview Ave), and Saturday 17 June 2017, 1–6pm in Inwood (Fairview Ave to West 220th St).
