A soliloquy with live Persian music, presented by master storyteller JA Reynolds and accompanied by Yousef Tehrani. Khayyam, a 12th-Century Persian poet and astronomer, rebelled against convention and sought escape in the pleasures of poetry and philosophy. We have him to thank for one of the most provocative poems ever written. Reynolds brings the atmosphere of a Middle Eastern Café to life. His dramatic interpretation gives another dimension to this masterpiece of world literature. There is no charge for the event itself, but attendees are encouraged to order (and pay for) their own food and beverages. At the Garden Café, 4961 Broadway, btw. W. 207th & Isham Streets. Come early for dinner, and stay for the reading. Friday & Saturday, June 26th & 27th at 9:30pm.
